238 pages, 256 illustrations, size 8.25 x 11 inches. This manual is a compilation of a number of various Yamaha Factory Manuals and covers the entire JT series of Mini-Enduro motorcycles manufactured from 1971 through 1972.
Possibly the most comprehensive manual available for this series, it includes numerous charts and graphs in addition to 256 illustrations. The workshop manual section consists of five separate chapters: Chapter 1 lists features, specifications, performance figures and tools required for shop service. Chapter 2 describes the Yamaha Autolube system, settings and adjustments. Chapter 3 focuses on engine overhaul. Chapter 4 deals with all of the chassis related components, wheels, brakes, tires etc., and Chapter 5 covers the electrical and ignition systems. At the end of the workshop manual there is an Appendix that includes a number of appropriate 'Parts & Service Bulletins' that were issued by Yamaha plus service and maintenance information and torque settings. The workshop manual is followed by a section on increasing performance for both racing and general use and finally, there are two separate fully illustrated parts lists for the JT1 & JT1L and the JT2 & JT2MX Mini-Enduro series.
After his visit to Japan in 1961, Floyd Clymer published 'The Complete Catalog of Japanese Motor Vehicles' (ISBN 9781588502209). Based on his experiences during that visit, Floyd also anticipated the need for repair manuals for those Japanese motorcycles that were just starting to be imported into the USA [Yamaha (1958), Honda (1959), Suzuki (1963)]. The predominance of the Floyd Clymer Japanese motorcycle publications are reprints, or compilations of the original factory manuals which today makes them more desirable than the current aftermarket manuals.
