The story is one of confrontation against evil, with courage and skill. In this story there is, usually, a clear delineation between good and evil, and the story is meant to be graphic and intense, just as true life is. This work may remind the reader of the 'Sunset Warrior' series, and 'The Ninja' by Eric Van Lustbader, although set in a world much more like to Tolkien's Middle-Earth, with a few more gothic elements added.

In the world of Middle-Liefe, which is the domain of mortal men, and once the adopted home of the immortal Elves. From men came a wizard envious of the immortality of the First-Born Elves, who turned away from Liefe, and sought to be as immortal as the Elves. To do this he drained the souls of other men, slipped the bonds of life and death, and became the un-killable Necromancer, the greatest evil in Middle-Liefe.

Master Wizard Geoff, obsessed with destroying the Necromancer, puts into motion an insane plan to kill the un-killable. At the center of this plan is his son, Ewin, who is un-aware of the plans of his father. When the time comes for Ewin to play his role, he is not ready. He has become a warrior of the Hsing, a man with the guiding spirit of a beast of Liefe within him. With only a sword as a weapon, Ewin is wholly incapable of destroying the Necromancer, but his father's plans are in motion, and Ewin is caught up in them.

With a few companions, Ewin sets out to confront the greatest evil that Middle Liefe has spawned, a battle that he has no hope of winning, and the rest of the world is thrown into another great war.
