What would make you leave a solid life, take all your belongings, choose an unknown location across the country, and move with only your dog and God with you? At 38, Claire James does just that. She starts her trek from familiar Atlanta, Georgia, and heads to small town Haywood, Montana virtually alone. Claire is trusting God to help her find the life she dreams of living. And with that comes total surrender to God's plan, but that is not easy for a headstrong, independent, let's get-it-done kind of woman. Shortly after arriving in the sleepy little town, she finds herself in the emergency room totally dependent on strangers. This is not part of the plan.
After recuperating from her accident, Claire meets the people at Haywood House, an assisted living facility, and introduces her ideas to bring meaning and purpose to this vulnerable community. However, Mrs. Blanton, the director of the facility, doesn't embrace Claire's plan nor appreciate her over exuberance involving the residents. Wanting to enrich the lives of the people she becomes so attached to, she tries too hard and too quickly to make changes. Will she ever be able to validate the lives of the people who remind her of her own dear Grams. Will she find a place to call home and people to call family? Will she be able to confide in anyone about her heart condition? God has led her here and now she must believe in herself and trust in Him.
