"Winged Things" A Grayscale Coloring Book features the fairies, dragons, angels and pegasus art of Molly Harrison. These single sided images are in GRAYSCALE - not line art. This means that all the values from black to white are included. Grayscale coloring allows the depth of the image (shading and highlighting) to come through while allowing you, the colorist, to choose the colors! Suitable mediums are alcohol markers, other markers, pastel chalks, colored pencil, and more. The key to grayscale coloring is to use transparent colors/mediums so that the shading and highlighting can show through. However, over the darker areas, colored pencils such a Prisma Color and other opaque mediums will work wonderfully. Gel pens are great for highlights. This coloring book is not suitable for any wet media such as watercolor or watered down paints of any kind unless you copy the pages onto heavy paper (some printers will accept heavy paper). If you use markers, be sure to put a heavy piece of cardstock or several pieces of regular paper between the pages to prevent bleed through onto the next page. Most of all, have fun and don't be intimidated but allow your artist self to experiment and enjoy this different kind of coloring.
