A glimpse into the lives of four people and a rescued Labrador Husky who live on an island surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Their seaside communities are connected by an old railway bed that has become a walking trail. Two people observe life through their windows and two walk the shoreline trail, one with her dog.
Margaret is enjoying retirement in her home surrounded by relatives on family land. From her front window, she keeps an eye on the comings and goings of her community. After several changes in his life, Ben enjoys solitude whether in his remodeled cabin far from neighbors or walking along the shoreline for hours every day. Carrie is set in her ways and, not always tolerant of the world around her, she keeps busy with well-established habits and routines. For twenty years, Sara has wanted a dog. Now forced to live on her own, she adopts a rescued Labrador Husky for company in her home and during nature walks on the nearby trail.
Margaret, Ben, Carrie and Sara have never been introduced to each other until they contribute to and then attend an event on Canada Day.
