Once a soldier, always a soldier.
Natasha is completely alone, although she's surrounded by people. Freshly arrived in England on a train full of refugees from a vicious war in mainland Europe, she's left everything behind. Including her fourteen year old son.
It's not long before she runs into trouble. Natasha finds herself in peril, surrounded in a dark London alleyway by men who wish her harm. But also in the alleyway is a man in a robe. A preacher with a most unusual skill set for a man of the cloth.
Shortly after Natasha is rescued from the alleyway, she gets the most horrendous news. Her son, who was supposed to be joining her in England, has decided to stay and fight for his country. He's all she has, and she turns to the preacher for help.
He wore a uniform once, but it was many years ago. He's no stranger to the battlefield, but this isn't his war. He's in England for an entirely different reason.
But old habits die hard. And so do old soldiers.
