The moment I took out the black-magic witch, I knew I was in trouble. I'd blazed my way to her lair just to prove to my ex that the younger, perkier version he'd replaced me with was not equal to the Ava he'd callously tossed aside. So, by the time the light went out of the witch's eyes, I already knew the fight wasn't over. I just didn't realize it was the dark fae and the second in command of their Shadow Court who had ambushed me.
He's hot AF. Ruthless. Powerful. The kind of bad boy that might make my spine tingle in all the right ways if he wasn't dragging me kicking and snarling into a land of magic with an ultimatum to kill a powerful fae king or watch my sister die.
