"Pub Theology: Where Potato Wedges and a Beer are a Eucharistic Experience" is a new book now available, edited by myself and Irene Alexander. In a pretty ordinary pub, the Crown Hotel, in suburban Brisbane, a small group of friends organised a 'theology-on-tap' event. Since 2014 there have been close to fifty presentations. In this book some twenty presenters have written up their talks on a wide range of topics including: money, wealth, and a simple life-style; reading one's culture; issues of dislocation and belonging; medicine and healing; the dark night of the soul; a theology of weakness; issues in marriage and divorce; engagement with indigenous communities; unemployment issues; working in the juvenile justice system; downward-mobility; issues in a life of integrity; and many more. All the presenters gave their talk within a particular frame: intersecting their individual story in relation to the larger story of theology and spirituality. Thus, each talk has both a deeply personal "ringtone," as well as links to wider traditions. I hope you enjoy it.

A unique collage of voices of professionals as they intersect their life issues, struggles and pain with their faith traditions. This results in a grounded and lived theology that stares real life in the face, is self-disclosing, and hopeful. These voices may well inspire you to a deeper spiritual journey.
