Tory recently returned to Santa Cruz and to her family, the Pacific Pack. She quickly gets a job at a local hospital as a nurse working in the emergency department. A string of odd cases inspires her to collect more data. Her colleagues and boss think her hunch that the cases may be related is far-fetched, but her gut is telling her it's something more. Meanwhile, she's accidentally started fake dating the Medical Director, a woman she's admired from afar. Can her life get more confusing?
As Medical Director of the emergency room, Mildred has a lot going on at work. Despite her piles of paperwork, back to back meetings, and tight schedule running the emergency department, her parents are unhappy with how she's running her life. She's over thirty, why hasn't she found a husband and had kids? Uncertain how to tell them she likes women, she ends up drunk at a bar one night, and accidently invites Tory, the sassy blue haired nurse from work, to join her to a family function. How could things end wrong?
Mildred has watched Tory work harder than any nurse at the hospital despite obstacles she's had to overcome. She oversees a lot of people, with a lot of big attitudes. Tory looks up to the gorgeous and fun medical director who never treated her with anything but respect, despite her blue hair and youthful appearance. Will Tory let Mildred into her heart? Can Mildred change who she is to be with Tory?
