In May 1881, a doleful letter appeared in The Christadelphian magazine. It was written by Charles Sims, formerly of Dudley, England, who had recently emigrated to the colony of Natal. His new home, Sims lamented, was no place for Christadelphians. As things turned out, he was quite wrong. In the country he had thought unsuitable, he remained and lived out his life. Not only that but his descendants continued to live and flourish and to faithfully serve the Lord. Throughout the intervening decades, there has been a Christadelphian presence in many parts of the country. This book recounts the history of the Christadelphians in South Africa, through the turmoil of civil war, world wars and apartheid.
