How does one determine what is real and what is imagination? And does it matter? Seventeen-year-old Arthur unwittingly finds himself wandering through this labyrinth of the mind as he searches for love, redemption, and destiny.

Arthur graduates high school early, and his abusive father wastes no time in kicking him out of the house. Aimlessly hitchhiking, he eventually finds himself in Portland, Oregon. There he becomes captivated by free-spirited Sari, who he meets in a small coffee shop. She talks him into joining the mystical New Age commune she belongs to on the edge of the city.

Arthur's life soon turns into a whirligig of puzzling archetypal dreams and hallucinogenic drug visions, while a mysterious esoteric entity comes to guide him, imbuing him with inexplicable powers.

Never quite sure which plane he is standing on, a bedazzled Arthur wends his way along a bizarre path to a breathtaking new world that may or may not of his own creation.
