Those familiar with other red-letter editions of the KJV, will recognize the format. Words printed in red in those bible editions, were spoken by the Savior in the first person. They were generally confined to the four Gospels. However, rather than highlighting text in red when the Savior speaks, this rendition highlights in red the changes made by the JST. When altered, because of the JST, all original KJV text, verses, and chapters, are retained, but highlighted in blue and given a strike-through.
This rendition of the KJV was accomplished through careful examination of the JST "New Testament Revision 1" and "New Testament Revision 2," as published on The Joseph Smith Papers web site of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Additionally, we occasionally referenced the bible used by the Prophet which was marked wherever changes were to be made. That bible can be found at the same website and on the same webpage.
