In the Bible, the "Book of Job" chronicles the trials and travails that befall a man who loves Yahweh. Through all manner of profound loss, spiritual torment, and complete social alienation, Job keeps his faith. All of the many blessings of Job are stripped away. The man Job is left with only his relationship with God. Jobeth, the title of this work is a linguistic reflection of the King James Version of the Old Testament, with the suffix -eth turning the namesake Job, into Jobeth. God giveth and God taketh away, not only from the man, but also giveth Jobeth, a woman, and taketh away from her as well.
