It also includes detailed accounts of two larger northern New Mexico fires in 2011 and 2022: the Las Conchas Fire and the Hermit Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. These dangerous, climate-change-driven fires dwarfed Cerro Grande in size and destructiveness but not in importance regarding the lessons learned from Cerro Grande.
