138 pages, 388 illustrations, size 8.25 x 11 inches. This Workshop Manual is a compilation of various Honda Factory Manuals for the K0 through K7 series of CB/CL 450 motorcycles manufactured from 1965 through 1974. It includes repair data for the original 4 speed K0 model and covers the many significant mechanical differences between the 4 and 5 speed models that are normally omitted from most manuals for the CB 450 series.
After his visit to Japan in 1961, Floyd Clymer published 'The Complete Catalog of Japanese Motor Vehicles' (ISBN 9781588502209). Based on his experiences during that visit, Floyd also anticipated the need for repair manuals for those Japanese motorcycles that were just starting to be imported into the USA [Yamaha (1958), Honda (1959), Suzuki (1963)]. The predominance of the Floyd Clymer Japanese motorcycle manuals were reprints, or compilations of the factory publications which today makes them more desirable than the current aftermarket manuals.
At the time of Floyd's unexpected demise in 1970, there were a number of manuals that had been completed and were ready for publication. This 'Honda CB 450' publication is one of those completed, but previously unpublished, Floyd Clymer manuals. While it was likely finalized in early 1970, we have updated the information to include additional data that covers the major mechanical differences between the various models. Although the 1970 CB450K3 was the last model to include significant engineering and styling changes, we have also added a supplement that identifies the major mechanical and visual differences between all the CB/CL 450 models from 1965 through the K7 model of 1974.
