To have an emotional connection with someone is to have a feeling of alignment and intimacy that goes beyond just physical attraction. It's a connection that these characters will learn to dissect and accept even when they don't understand their own feelings.

Starla Knight has overcome many obstacles, but after suffering from one of the most brutal assaults of her life, she walks with pride in trying to keep it together and move into her new season as a businesswoman. No matter how deep into the light she tries to venture, the past always shows up to remind her of the darkness. After making a discovery about Prime and Black, she faces trying times once again being forced to wear her sleeves on her back and make unexpected decisions.

Dontez 'Prime' Rollins is a man of his word and what he says goes. His hardest battle is transitioning from a gangsta to a Boss. Feeling emotionally invested in Starla, he's left blindsided when she disappears without a word. The longer his calls go unanswered, the longer he's unable to see her face, and the longer he goes without knowing she's in a good mental state, he feels entitled to find out the truth even if that means putting himself in a cat and mouse situation to do so. When it comes to Starla and some answers to life-or-death questions, he realizes a lot as he keeps it cutthroat with his words. Although a billionaire, that meant nothing to him when it came to what his heart believed in. For the first time in his life, Prime is learning to understand his own feelings.

Demarcus "Peanut' Funchess has gotten himself in a sticky web with Shante, but no matter what, he stands ten toes down behind Starla and doesn't mind threatening anybody that tries to come in between that. Upon learning some very hurtful information from Starla, his hot head ways continue to spazz out of control, but the only woman he can lean on to bring a sense of calmness is on her own journey to self-healing and reflecting while trying to fight the feelings of murder being on her mind. He feels the distance between him and Starla and it hurts him more than he expected. Never being the ones to hide anything from each other, that's exactly what they both find each other doing, however, neither one of them wants to be the one to let go.

In this installment, you feel the raw emotions of every situation as it's played out. Each character learns how to be vulnerable when it comes to themselves even through the demons of their every day lives. It's okay to shed a tear, it's okay to love beyond measures, and most importantly, it's okay to put yourself first.
