At the early age of 8-9 years his deep love for Allah took him into jungles where he would stay 7-8 months at a time. During his travel he visited the shrines of many Qutbs, Ghawthes and Auliya and met many saints who helped him in his journey to seek nearness to Allah and he learned from them knowledge on Marifa and Ilm-e-Laduni. Also, he met Khidr AlaysSalam many times and benefitted from his teachings and guidance. He was a strict follower of Shariat and his love for Prophet Muhammad SAW was intense. He used to say "A person may posses' great power. He may walk on water or fly on air, but it is not proper to go to him if he does not follow Shariat". One can achieve "miraculous power through perseverance but this is of little importance. What is important is to achieve nearness of Allah". He came to Calcutta to settle on the advice of another saint when he was 31-32 years old after spending most of the time in jungles. He did it following the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad SAW who married, earned a living, had family and benefitted people. In Calcutta he taught at Ramzania Madrasa. When a position of Additional Maulvi opened in Kolkata Madrasa, Dadaji, who had total trust in Allah, did not send any application to Kolkata Madrasa but applied for the position directly to Allah who accepted it - such that the principal of Kolkata Madrasa Dr. Ross along with a senior Ulama suddenly decided to visit and attend Dadaji's lectures in Ramzania. Dr. Ross was so pleased that he immediately wrote a letter to the Governor requesting him to appoint Maulana Safiullah as an Additional Maulvi and observed that he had never met such a great scholar like Dadaji before. It is worth noting here that Dadaji never received any formal education or degree from any established institution. Dadaji's love and submission to Allah was absolute. In old age when he was infected with painful Carbuncle (a severe abscess with multiple boils in the skin), his disciple requested him to pray to Allah to remove this infection. Dadaji responded by saying that the Carbuncles were guests from Allah and how can he asked Allah to remove His guests. Dadaji's Duas were accepted immediately. Ordinary people, Ulamas, Sheikhs, spiritual masters, and great saints came to him for he was considered the "Saint of all Saints" of his time. Even Jinns would come to him in human forms to learn and benefit from him. Allah blessed him with the Knowledge of Marifa and by Allah's grace and permission he would know the inner thoughts of people and future events to the extent Allah allowed. Dadaji had great respect for his spiritual teacher. Whenever a member of his family passed, he would standup in respect for them. Dadaji lived in this world but was totally indifferent towards it, i.e., had no worldly love and attachments. He was such a simple person that he could not differentiate between a gold coin and a regular coin and neither understood how people can cheat or take advantage of others. He detested publicity of
