Ghosts. The two most popular horror writers of all time are challenged by their agents to collaborate for one week on creating the best horror story ever written.
Never having met before, the authors meet at a site arranged by their agents-a remote Victorian house in a secluded area in New England. The house is said to have the "perfect ambiance," as it has a legend of being haunted and is adjacent to a crumbling and overgrown cemetery that dates back 200 years. They are left there, alone, together, in this eerie mansion with no way to contact the outside world.
Both harbor a hidden hatred for each other's work that they both share in their secret lives.
As they write, they play an underlying game of cat and mouse, each trying to get into the other's mind and soul. Unexpectedly, during a nighttime storm, a young, beautiful woman dressed in a soiled and tattered white wedding gown is found alone in the cemetery near an open grave. With no memory of who she is, or where she is from, she attracts them both with her alluring mysteriousness. Is she just a part of their writers' imagination, or is she real? Was she sent there by their agents to help them create a story, or is she a real "ghost" come-to-life to take them back to the grave with her?
The search to find the answer takes each writer into his own personal madness, resulting in a real-life horror story, more terrifying than anything either one of them ever wrote. There is only one possible ending, someone must die!
