As a grandfather of fifteen, I have read many books about colour names to toddlers and young children. I found them boring. There is so much beautiful form and colour in this world: cartoon drawings just can not compete.
My first contribution to aesthetics in colour name books was Parrot Colours. Gratified by the warm reception of books on colour based on outstanding artwork, I found Familiar Indian Flowers by Lena Lowis. I digitally restored the beautiful artwork from this 1879 publication, and created this book.
