The Dolphin Editions offer a series of monolingual editions of ancient authors with commentary, paraphrase, and illustrations. Each book in the Dolphin Editions series has a simple layout: the main text is at the top, the commentary at the bottom, and the paraphrase in the middle. The present edition is accompanied by Ad Usum Delphini prose paraphrase of Vergil's text. Besides the interpretatio, we have selected, compiled, and reworked only those notes in the original AUD commentary that we deemed helpful to modern high school students. We have also drawn upon other Latin commentaries beyond the Ad Usum Delphini series (such as the Bibliotheca Classica Latina and Egidio Forcellini's Totius Latinitatis Lexicon) and added some notes of our own to facilitate the students' comprehension of the text.
