Butterfly Kisses is a story about five-year-old Amelia, who is afraid to start school because she doesn't want to be apart from her mom. Her mom eventually finds a small way to help Amelia, and Amelia gradually adjusts to the transition. Separation anxiety is an all too common issue for young children and their parents. This book shows children that it's okay to be scared when starting something new and that like Amelia, they too will eventually come to enjoy their newfound independence.
