Charles Pratt grew up in a rural Tennessee farm family that taught him the values of working hard, while treating all people with respect. Honesty and integrity were the standard that he adopted from his parents. He came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ just before entering college. He accepted the great challenge as the first person in his family to attend college by receiving a high school scholarship.
His life has been constantly driven with a passion to make a difference in the world and his family. Charles's first full-time job after college was a high school teacher and boys basketball coach. He met the love of his life, Linda at a Gospel Crusade when the audience was asked to shake hands with those around them. Charles shook Linda's hand and did not want to let go. They married about 2 years later and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2019. While serving as a high school teacher, Charles began to venture into the business world on a part-time basis. Later he went full time into business in Paris, Tennessee, where he helped start 2 very successful businesses within a short period of time. At a young age, Charles became a very excited Bible teacher for a Young Couples class in his church, while leading many to faith in Jesus. The Spirit of the Lord used Charles in his home church, but soon he sensed another calling upon his life for full time ministry. He quickly sold his business interests and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to pursue studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in preparation for a new beginning.
After completing two seminary degrees, the author pastored different size churches, but has become a denominational servant. His passion is stronger than ever to preach and to teach the Word, while preaching in dozens of nations on 5 continents. Charles has taken hundreds of volunteers to serve in dozens of Third World Nations in the past 30 years, sharing the love of Jesus with poor people.
In addition to his mission work, the author delights in speaking in churches wherever he receives an invitation, large or small. Charles has answered questions for Christian TV audiences and for church goers about creationism. He has made an early morning study habit of reading through the Bible every year for over forty years. He declares that this fuels his passion with a fresh message from the Lord Jesus, his personal Hero.
