Ages 8+ This 158-page workbook provides worksheets that can be used for therapy as well as to evaluate English speakers' and/or Spanish speakers' ability to process verbally presented information and to recall that information in a quick and accurate manner. Cloze activities are included to aid in recalling information by using context clues. Five themes are targeted in both languages, including animals, household items, school items, vehicles, and food items. The worksheets can also be used to guide therapy and track progress for RTI purposes in upper elementary, middle school, and high school, depending on the cognitive age of the student. Speech therapists and special education teachers can include the findings in the IEP and Progress Report as a measure of performance. Parents can utilize this book as a homework plan to improve their child's auditory skills. WHAT GOALS/OBJECTIVES ARE WORKED ON DURING THIS ACTIVITY? The following objectives are among many that can be targeted during this activity: (1) increase vocabulary knowledge in the categories of animals, household items, school items, vehicles, and food items, (2) repeat sentences of 6+ words given minimal repetitions, (3) increase mean length of utterance to 6+ words, (4) answer "wh" questions from verbally presented sentences, (5) recall details from verbally presented sentences, (6) understand and express the definition of target words, (7) recall labels of common objects given context clues, (8) complete cloze activities by recalling nouns and verbs, (9) recall details from verbal passages, (10) summarize verbal passages by stating at least 4 parts in sequence, (11) use imagery skills to improve memory by drawing and coloring a scene from auditorily presented paragraphs, (12) complete word association tasks, (13) express similarities and differences between associated words
