He’s pretty much fashion royalty in SA, and is celebrating two decades of being one of the country’s most formidable clothing designers. So it was fitting for David Tlale to kick off Africa Fashion International (AFI) Joburg Fashion Week in Bryanston by showcasing his Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The celeb-dominated runaway featured Basetsana Kumalo, Nigerian Netflix reality star Swanky Jerry, former football wife Sonia Booth, and veteran journalist and author Lesley Mofokeng. The theme was 20 Years of God’s Grace and Favour, and David took guests down memory lane with some of his iconic garments. Guests such as Lira, Nadia Nakai and Brenda Mtambo were there to cheer him on.
