DENMARK CHANGES COIN PRODUCER

Denmark’s circulation coinage will be produced by Spain’s Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre- Real Casa de la Moneda. A four-year contract for Real Casa de la Moneda to mint coins for Denmark was announced on January 9, 2025. Denmark had an agreement with the Mint of Finland that began in 2017. However, the Mint was shut down at the end of summer 2024, and Spain’s contract expired. On August 28, 2024, the Mint of Finland announced, “Mint of Finland is now focusing on completing the current customer and supplier commitments in accordance with the agreements, estimated by spring 2025, before closing down operations.
