Caught on camera A rare pine marten has been spotted in a London woodland for the first time in more than a century. Easily recognised by its long body and creamy bib, the mammal was photographed by a camera set up by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) to monitor hedgehogs. It’s not known how this adventurous individual arrived in the capital, as pine martens are mostly found in Scotland and northern England, with the closest known population 80 miles away in the New Forest.
