It’s a funny old world
I was in a church choir as a boy. I was five years old when I started, and at Christmastime, we would always sing and the whole church would come to watch. Not only was it my first performance but also my first memorable Christmas – it was very exciting and I remember it well. We’d come back from midnight Mass and we were so hungry that we’d eat all the festive bakery treats in the middle of the night – that was the best part of it all!
Unfortunately, it’s not a tradition I have continued with my kids as, after being in the church choir for 10 years – I was a high soprano – I lost my voice. But my children and I do…
