CLAIRE POWELL, 43, FROM WIRKSWORTH, DERBYSHIRE ‘I grew up on the Wirral Peninsula in a house just a few seconds’ walk from a peaceful stretch of water at the mouth of the River Dee. My memories are of wrapping up in all weathers to take family walks along the water’s edge, or eating ice creams while watching windsurfers catch a breeze from the Irish Sea. Now, it’s the first place I head to if I’m sick, run-down or when the stress of life gets too much. I’ve made big career decisions while gazing out over that expanse of water, and have healed from relationship break-ups with morning runs along the shore.
