Ever wonder what it would like to not be able to hear any sounds or people speaking to you?
Every consider the outrageous things that might be said about you to your face, behind your back, or missing a kind word that someone might say to you?
At first, Oliver and his family didn't know anything about the deaf culture, like most other hearing people, until their love and attention helped them understand Oliver and prepare him to face the rest of the world's problems.
When Oliver was young, his life was difficult for him because he looked different than the other kids and because no one know about him or his special skills! He was often surrounded by people outside his family who were afraid of his uniqueness. Then Oliver patiently helped them understand and respect him and other deaf people regardless of how they looked.
Oliver learned how to break the ice with others after he met more deaf and hearing people than he had ever seen. It took Oliver a lot of time and thought to practice many new and different behaviors until he became successful in his work after his graduation.
Oliver will take you on his journey and let you in on the trials and triumphs of his life! Be prepared to be amazed, shocked, outraged, saddened, and ultimately overjoyed with his life's adventures! Hopefully, this book will help you better understand the deaf culture wherever you life and admire each other no matter that your lives are diverse.
Let Oliver introduce you to becoming aware and comfortable with your own and other people's personal challenges. He will make you see your life less scary and make you better able to help others too!
