AUTUMN ROADTRIP Exploring Britain in a campervan can be challenging, especially with our notoriously brief summer. As August draws to a close, I’m guilty of becoming increasingly anxious and therefore start franticly squeezing in as many road trips as possible before autumn inevitably arrives. There are times when I’m in a state of denial and I can be found wearing shorts and a T-shirt, despite the weather calling for a coat, stubbornly clinging to the idea that summer isn’t over yet. My hand-painted pastel blue, self-converted 1997 Transporter, affectionately known as Helm’s Deep, used to see progressively less use as autumn faded into our dreary winter.
