SHORT-SIGHTED Brits were celebrating last night after confirmation that they not only continue to heavily outnumber their longsighted rivals, but that their dominance is set to increase in the years ahead.
According to a report in the British Journal of Ophthalmology, the myopic majority now account for more than 40% of the UK population, with 1 in 3 British children boasting the long-eyeball-related defect. And according to vision boffins, by the year 2050 the number worldwide who have difficulty seeing far-off objects clearly could hit a supersonic 50%.
