In Sachen erneuerbare Energien gehört das Land zu den Spitzenreitern! Der Solarpark wurde erst Anfang dieses Jahres in Betrieb genommen. Er kann etwa 12 000 Haushalte mit Strom versorgen – damit werden jährlich 420 000 Tonnen Kohlenstoffdioxid eingespart. Auch wenn der Brexit das Land in große wirtschaftliche Probleme gestürzt hat, geht der Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien in England zügig voran. 2020 wurden bereits mehr als 40 Prozent des gesamten Energieverbrauchs des Landes durch nachhaltige Energien bereitgestellt – im Vergleich dazu war der Anteil bei den EU-Mitgliedstaaten mit etwa 20 Prozent nur halb so groß.
