I always thought having a dog would be a hassle — so much work, and then there’s all the picking up of poop. How could I juggle that with my already busy life? But during the pandemic, I relented to my husband: enter Misty, a stubborn, always-on chunk of French bulldog. Every morning, she climbs into our bed and onto my chest, nuzzles my face, then drags me out for a game of fetch in the field across from our house. She is pure, relentless joy — possibly the most enthusiastic positive being on earth (aside from Hoda Kotb, of course).
