We’ve all heard of blackwork embroidery, traditionally worked in black thread, but Durene has given these designs a festive twist of colour that you are sure to enjoy. The cards feature four festive emblems – a heart, angel, Christmas tree and bells – which are brought to life using intricate patterns worked mainly in one strand of backstitch. There are also some areas of solid colour worked in whole cross stitch and fractionals, as well as heavier backstitch and a few French knots for texture. We love how the simpler colour scheme shows off all this detail, balancing out the overall effect to create cards with wow factor.
