Om ’n ongebruikte swembad in ’n ateljee te omskep was ’n lang en moeisame proses – maar al die sweet werd!

Wie woon hier? Talita en Dion Röder WAAR Ladysmith, KZN GROOTTE ± 60 m Talita spesialiseer in drukwerk – etswerk en linostempels – en gee ook teken-, verf- en beeldhouklasse. As kind het Talita Röder, ’n kunstenaar en kunsonderwyser, altyd haar pa gehelp met opknapprojekte. “Ek was sy regterhand,” skerts sy, en vertel hoe haar pa altyd gesê het: “My kind, jy het meer moed as verstand.” Kyk jy so na haar ateljee wat eens op ’n tyd ’n donker gunietswembad was, besef jy gou sy moes hare op haar tande hê vir dié ongewone, veeleisende opknap. Die swembad was reeds op die eiendom toe Talita en haar man, Dion, dit 10 jaar gelede gekoop het. “Dit was so oorgroei dat die vorige huurders nie eens geweet het dis daar nie,” onthou sy.
