Paul's Instructions To Pastor Titus
The Importance Of Apostle Paul Instructing Pastor Titus. Pastor Titus was on the lonely island of Crete. There were probably no other New Testament churches on that island at the time. Paul thought it was vital to tell this pastor many important things that he and other pastors should know and tell others about. Pastors today should also know these things.
Paul Told Pastor Titus 15 Standards That Biblical Pastors Must Meet. These 15 standards were not only necessary for pastors in Titus's days to meet, but they must also be fulfilled in our days by those who wish to be pastors. Sad to say, there are hundreds and thousands of today's pastors who do not meet all 15 of these standards. This is a serious compromise and disobedience to God's Words!
Paul Told Pastor Titus To Tell Biblical Pastors To Hold Fast To 4 Things.
It is not enough for Pastors to meet all 15 of these Biblical standards. They must also "hold fast" to four important things as they minister the Words of God to their congregations. It is just as important for Biblical pastors today to hold fast to these four things so as not to lead their congregations into false doctrines and practices. Pastors must be good examples for those to whom they minister.
Paul Told Four Groups Of People To Do Certain Things. There were 6 things for aged men; 12 things for aged women; 6 things for Pastor Titus; and 5 things that are taught by God's grace. Many of these 29 specific things are completely absent in the lives of people today. Many in these groups--even some genuine Christians--don't read God's Words to know what God expects of them. That leaves them ignorant of God's will.
