Master of Monaco After eight races without a victory, “covering seven painful months”, Lewis Hamilton’s drought is over, says Daniel Johnson in The Daily Telegraph. On Sunday, in his adopted home town, the Mercedes driver won the Monaco Grand Prix with a drive worthy of his “great hero” Ayrton Senna. Hamilton mastered the rainy conditions, and his bold decision to make only one pit stop paid off. Before this race, his Mercedes teammate and arch-rival Nico Rosberg seemed to be running away with the drivers’ world championship; but he was as “dismal” as Hamilton was dazzling, and his lead has now been cut to just 24 points.
