Trump versus Clinton

Donald Trump last week clinched the Republican nomination for the US presidential race, winning the support of enough delegates to secure his place on the ballot. The New York billionaire crossed the threshold when some previously uncommitted delegates pledged their support, giving him a clear majority among the total 2,472 who will meet at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next month. He now needs only the convention’s formal endorsement. But the Democratic nomination remained in doubt after socialist contender Bernie Sanders insisted that he would stay in the race until his party’s convention, later in July, even though he now has little chance of overtaking frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
