What inspired this book? I was inspired by “The Three Princesses in the Mountain Blue” fairy tale. I thought it would resonate with kids who were in lockdown during the pandemic and were unable to go out and socialize. Do you like fairy tales? I love them from every culture. I have books about them from all over the world. I like Norwegian fairy tales because they have strong female characters. Do you have siblings? Yes. I had sisters whom I fought with as a kid, but now we’re very close. What makes fantasy novels good to read? I like the separation from the real world. The characters may have similar issues, but they feel different. Favorite school subject? Probably recess. And many of my favorite courses had to do…
