Women’s ice hockey Worlds begin

The 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship began in Denmark on August 25 and will end on September 4. Team USA is one of the 10 teams competing for the title. The event has been held nearly every year since 1990. Only teams from the US or Canada have won gold. At the start of the tournament, play takes place among two groups. Group A has the world’s best teams: the US, Canada, Finland, Switzerland, and Japan. After these teams play each other once, they will all advance to the quarterfinals.
