What inspired this book? I am passionate about archaeology, the study of human history through artifacts, and I wanted to combine that with my love of adventure stories involving puzzles and collecting treasure. Have you always enjoyed adventures? Yes! The Indiana Jones films, The Mummy, and Pirates of the Caribbean were my favorite movies when I was younger. Why do you like writing for kids? Young people today are smart and direct yet still in touch with their sense of wonder. I love looking at the world through their lens. Favorite museum? The American Museum of Natural History in New York City because I love to view the dinosaur bones there. Place you’d like to visit? I’ve always wanted to go to the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.…
