Ancient king’s tomb found in Egypt

For the first time in more than 100 years, a team of researchers has uncovered the ancient tomb of an Egyptian king. The burial place belonged to the pharaoh (ruler) Thutmose II, who ruled Egypt about 3,500 years ago. Experts are calling it the biggest discovery of its kind since King Tutankhamun’s tomb was found in 1922. Thutmose II ruled for about 10 years beginning in about 1480 BCE, which was during Egypt’s 18th dynasty. His tomb was discovered underneath a waterfall in the Theban Mountains. It was about a mile west of Egypt’s Valley of the Kings, a site in Upper Egypt where numerous pharaohs were buried.
