Greenland Greenland is Earth’s largest island, found at the far north of the planet. Despite its name, the island is about 80% covered by ice. In some places, tourists can walk on glaciers and view icebergs that rise more than 300 feet in the air. Greenland offers many outdoor activities, such as hiking, paddleboarding, and ice fishing. It also features fjords (narrow inlets of the sea) and the midnight sun, an Arctic phenomenon in which the Sun does not set for months during the summer.
