Climate activist Mikaela Loach has written her first book for young readers.

Activist, author, organizer, and speaker Mikaela Loach, age 27, has dedicated her life to fighting for climate justice and protecting our planet. In her new book for middle-grade readers, Climate Is Just the Start, she shares stories from her activism journey while explaining the climate crisis and its broader impact. Loach was born in Jamaica and moved to England, where she grew up in the countryside. At about age 5, she saw news coverage of a tsunami that struck countries that border the Indian Ocean, leaving many people without homes, food, or shelter.
