MLS teams begin 2025 season

The 30th season of Major League Soccer (MLS) recently got underway. San Diego FC joined the league this season, so there are now 30 clubs evenly divided between the Eastern and Western Conferences. Each one will play in 34 regular-season matches. The LA Galaxy are the reigning MLS Cup champions. Before the season began, they were expected to be one of the best teams in the West, but they lost their first two games. Two other teams in the conference to watch will be LAFC, who finished in first place in the conference standings last year, and the Seattle Sounders.
