Academy Awards are presented

The most prestigious prizes in the film industry were presented on March 2 at the 97th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. The televised event was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and was hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien. Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo opened the ceremony with a performance of songs from the movie. In a historic moment, Flow won the award for best animated feature, making it the first film from Latvia, a small country in northeastern Europe, to win an Oscar.
