Lotions, creams, cleansers, and scrubs are becoming popular with young people.

Americans are expected to spend $26 billion this year on skincare products, like sunscreen, wrinkle reducers, and face masks—and many of those customers will be teens and tweens. In 2023, the beauty company Sephora reported that the number of customers ages 9 to 12 had doubled in five years. One study by Common Sense Media found that 78% of teens said they had watched beauty tutorials online. But many popular skincare products are meant for adults, and some contain strong ingredients that kids don’t need. Other people say the trend is harmless fun for young people. What do you think?
