Wild day at the Daytona 500

The new NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) regular season began on February 16 with the 67th running of the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is known as the Great American Race and is considered the most important and prestigious event in the NASCAR world. The winner of this year’s competition was William Byron, who also won in 2024. The last driver to win back-to-back Daytona 500s was Denny Hamlin in 2019 and 2020. At 27 years, two months, and 18 days old, Byron is now the youngest winner of multiple Daytona 500s.
