A team of experts uncovered the tomb of a royal doctor, who may have treated pharaohs (kings) in ancient Egypt before his death about 4,100 years ago. The tomb was found at Saqqara, where many tombs and pyramids were built. The doctor’s tomb was behind a secret door and decorated with intricate carvings and colorful paintings. The artwork helped archaeologists (scientists who study objects left by people long ago) learn about the doctor. His name, which was carved on a stone coffin inside the tomb in hieroglyphics, was Tetinebefou. Hieroglyphics are an ancient Egyptian writing system that used symbols and pictures.
