Diverse characters shine on TV

Three new television series made sure more people are represented on screen. El Deafo on Apple TV+ is about a girl with hearing loss who imagines she is a superhero. The Disney+ series Ms. Marvel follows the first Muslim superhero in the Marvel universe. And the Apple TV+ comedy Best Foot Forward centers on a boy with a prosthetic (artificial) leg. It is based on the life of comedian and paralympian Josh Sundquist. He told The Week Junior that diverse characters can influence viewers: “I think they will react differently the next time they interact with someone like me in real life.”…
